The Madonna squat fitness challenge is taking over TikTok

While crazy fitness challenges like the 75 Hard challenge were all the rage on TikTok last year, this year has been a little different, with people choosing to take a slower, more chilled approach to exercise.

The current ‘cozy cardio’ trend, as well as trends like Hot Girl Walks and soft hiking encourage people to work out without putting too much pressure on their bodies and nervous systems.

However, the latest viral fitness challenge on looks like a serious cardio burner.

Inspired by the Queen of Pop herself, the Madonna jump squat challenge sees people copying some of the pop star’s dance moves during a performance of Music from her 2001 Drowned World Tour.

At the end of a two hour set at age of 43 – and wearing heels no less – Madonna performed 15 jump squats, all timed perfectly to the beat of the music.

And she still managed to look hot while doing it!

TikTokers are giving the challenge a go, and even the most athletic users are struggling to keep up with the Queen.

One user said the challenge ‘just about did me in,’ and we’re not surprised — squat jumps are tough!!

From building muscular endurance in your thighs to giving your heart a high-paced workout, this challenge is ideal if you want to add it to a high intensity workout, try it as a finisher after a leg day or simply test your fitness levels.
