Coronavirus warning – the four signs of COVID-19 that are most likely to be the infection

Coronavirus is an infectious disease that has been confirmed in more than six million people across the world. You could be at risk of the infection if you develop these four symptoms.

The UK has officially passed the peak of the coronavirus infection.

The UK government has advised the public to remain indoors in an attempt to curb the spread of the infection.

Despite nearing the final stretch of the COVID-19 outbreak, hundreds of people are still dying in the UK everyday.

Scientists have now revealed the four most predictive groups of coronavirus symptoms.

A combination of fatigue, a persistent cough, a loss of smell and taste, and a loss of appetite, significantly raises the chances of having a coronavirus infection.

Patients with these four symptoms were the most likely to have confirmed COVID-19.

It was also found that 65 percent of patients that tested positive for coronavirus reported a loss of smell or taste.

If you develop anosmia, you should self-isolate for at least 14 days.

“All individuals should self-isolate if they develop a new continuous cough or fever or anosmia,” a May statement read from the UK’s four chief medical officers.

“Anosmia is the loss or a change in your normal sense of smell. It can also affect your sense of taste as the two are closely linked.

“We have been closely monitoring the emerging data and evidence on COVID-19 and after thorough consideration, we are now confident enough to recommend this new measure.

“The individual’s household should also self-isolate for 14 days as per the current guidelines and the individual should stay at home for 7 days, or longer if they still have symptoms other than cough or loss of sense of smell or taste.”
