Prince Louis Was 'Very Upset' at Being Left Out of a Family Excursion & It's Peak Youngest Child

The baby of the family has a reputation for being spoiled — and Kate Middleton and Prince William do seem to have a soft spot for their youngest son Prince Louis, 5. But sometimes, being the youngest has its own set of drawbacks. Namely: not getting to do things your older siblings are allowed to do! The youngest royal was recently left out of a family outing, and it’s so relatable for youngest siblings.

On Sunday, Prince George, 9, and Princess Charlotte, 7, joined their parents for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, where Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic. However, Prince Louis was not in attendance, and he was apparently not happy about it.

“Louis was very upset he wasn’t coming today,” the Princess of Wales told Ella Ottaway, who runs the All England Tennis Club’s scheme for young people, per Woman and Home.

Poor kid! At 5, he’s old enough to know exactly what he’s missing, but still young enough to not be able to behave properly during the entire event. His parents were probably worried he would get too hot or too bored — or maybe they just wanted to be able to enjoy the exciting game without worrying about a little kid. We completely understand that!

In her statement with Ottaway, Princess Kate added, “It’s Charlotte’s first time, George came last year. They’ve been eagerly watching.” She added that Charlotte has been “getting to grips with the scoring.”

Prince George and Princess Charlotte both seemed to have a great time at the tennis match, as they were photographed cheering and enjoying themselves alongside their parents.

Prince Louis, on the other hand, has to be content with practicing tennis at home. During the game, Middleton chatted with a 16-year-old ball boy named Joel about her son. He recounted the conversation with PA News, per Hello! Magazine.

“He tries to practise standing and staying serious like us,” Joel said about Louis. “He tries to practise the stands and how we stand at the back of the court and next to the players.” How cute is that?

Luckily, Prince Louis desn’t have to miss all the fun family outings. On July 14, he joined his parents and older siblings to board a C17 during a visit to the Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford. For this event, he wore a long-sleeved navy shirt with matching shorts and tennis shoes as he walked next to his sister, in a striped dress, and his older brother, in a navy polo shirt and green khaki pants.

Maybe next year will be Prince Louis’s turn to make his Wimbledon debut!
