Appearing on the cover of British Vogue, Angelina Jolie looks pretty much the same as she did five (look, we’re even going to say possibly ten) years ago. Her long, spidery legs are crossed over each other, and her slender body is framed in a classic black turtleneck and pant. She is the image of beauty.

But alongside the perfectly posed image, Jolie – who is usually reserved about her personal life – opened up to Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful about everything from motherhood to fast fashion and ageing. And it seems that she is in the same parenting boat as a lot of us non-famous people.
Discussing the ways her children have been dealing with the pandemic, Jolie was asked what a typical day looks like at home. “Well, I was never very good at sitting still,” she mused.
“Even though I wanted to have many children and be a mom, I always imagined it kind of like Jane Goodall, traveling in the middle of the jungle somewhere. I didn’t imagine it in that true, traditional sense. I feel like I’m lacking in all the skills to be a traditional stay-at-home mom. I’m managing through it because the children are quite resilient, and they’re helping me, but I’m not good at it at all.”
She explained that the past few years have been hard for the mother of six (following her very public divorce from Brad Pitt) and has been spending the past twelve months trying to heal her family.
“The past few years have been pretty hard. I’ve been focusing on healing our family. It’s slowly coming back, like the ice melting and the blood returning to my body.”
The 45-year-old also spoke about her age, adding that she feels “much more comfortable in my forties than I did when I was younger,” she said.
If that makes you feel slightly more ok with the fact that home schooling during Covid was a complete disaster, then you’re welcome. If not, then head over here for some other mums sharing their wisdom.
